Updated Evernorth Behavioral Health Administrative Guidelines now available

The Evernorth® Behavioral Health (Evernorth) Administrative Guidelines for contracted psychiatrists, psychologists, master’s-level therapists, hospitals, and facility-based programs. These guidelines are part of your Participating Provider Agreement by reference and are reviewed annually to ensure the content remains relevant and current.

Strategic alliancesCareLinkSM, HealthPartners®, MVP® Health Care, and Priority Health, are no longer Cigna Healthcare strategic alliances.
Medicare Advantage– Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage has transitioned to Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), operating under the HealthSpringSM brand. HCSC now administers behavioral health benefits, including claims processing, customer service, medical management, and utilization management.
– As a result, sections specific to these plans have been removed and are now referenced in the HealthSpring Provider Manual.
Credentialing and recredentialing – Credentialing process for facilitiesThis is a new section.
Provider participation – Code of ConductThis is a new section.
Prescription Drug ProgramePrescribe and complex psychiatric case management programs have been removed; they are no longer part of the behavioral health program.
