Priority Health claim payments will come from Optum Financial and ECHO starting in 2027

November 5, 2026

If you’re a Cigna Healthcare® provider who cares for patients enrolled in a Priority Health plan, payments for those claims will come from a new source starting in 2027. Most of the change happens automatically, but there are a few things to know.

Priority Health, a Cigna Healthcare strategic alliance, is moving its provider payment process to Optum Financial®, in partnership with ECHO® Health, Inc. (ECHO). For dates of service on or after January 1, 2027, you’ll receive claim payments, remittance advices (835s), and 1099s from ECHO.

Payments will be issued from two systems during the transition, based on the date of service:

  • On or before December 31, 2026: Claims will continue to be paid through Priority Health’s current system.
  • On or after January 1, 2027: Claims will be paid through ECHO.

Depending on claim timing and any resubmissions, you may receive payments from both systems for a period of time.

How you’re paid through ECHO will match your current setup. If you’re enrolled in electronic funds transfer (EFT) today, you’ll continue to receive payments electronically. If you’re not enrolled in EFT, you’ll receive paper checks unless you sign up through ECHO.

For key dates, payment options, and next steps, review Priority Health’s payment information packet.
