Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common behavioral health conditions in children, and managing it well can make a world of difference. Medication can help control symptoms like hyperactivity, impulsiveness, and trouble focusing—but only if it’s prescribed and monitored correctly. That’s where you, as a provider, play a crucial role.
From January through December 2025, follow-up care1 rates among in-network Evernorth® Behavioral Health providers declined for children prescribed ADHD medication. Both initiation and maintenance rates fell below the Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set (HEDIS®)2 measure. For behavioral health, HEDIS measures—which are used to monitor quality—help ensure patients get the right care at the right time.
