Earlier this year, Cigna Healthcare® Medicare Advantage introduced Availity Essentials^TM as its new provider portal; however, those contracted with Cigna Healthcare commercial and Individual & Family Plans should continue using the Cigna for Health Care Professionals website (CignaforHCP.com) to complete tasks such as verifying eligibility and benefits, viewing customer ID cards, checking the status of claims, etc. 

Commercial and Individual & Family contracted providers who visit the Availity Essentials site must navigate to the Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage payer space and access the CignaforHCP.com single sign-on.

If you are contracted with Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage, you should continue to use Availity Essentials to perform the following functions for your patients with Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage coverage:

• Verify eligibility and benefits
• Verify primary care provider
• View customer ID cards
• Check the status of claims
• View remittance advice
• Access specific Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage links and resources, including prior authorization, through a dedicated payer space
