Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage: Customer ID card changes for the 2025 plan year

October 17, 2024

Effective for the 2025 plan year, Cigna HealthcareSM Medicare Advantage customer ID cards will no longer display the name and telephone number of the customer’s primary care provider (PCP). This change affects customer ID cards for Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and employer group plans. Preferred Provider Organization [PPO] plan ID cards do not currently display this information.

New ID cards

Customers will receive a hard copy of their ID card as follows:

  • New enrollees with January 1, 2025, effective dates will start receiving ID cards without PCP information as soon as October 10, 2024.
  • Current enrollees will receive new ID cards during the mass reissue period between November 2024 and December 2024.

Please note that customers will not receive a new ID card if they change their PCP during the enrollment year.
