Cigna Healthcare medical directors are available at any time for peer-to-peer reviews with providers who participate in our Medicare Advantage network. Medical directors make proactive and post-service P2P calls in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines to offer support and connect with you. They can help obtain clinical information and have a conversation with you about a patient’s care.
Pre-service calls before a patient’s visit help ensure all information is in hand to enable timely decision-making about patient care. Post-service calls can efficiently resolve potential issues, reduce administrative burden, and streamline treatment timelines.
