(June 26, 2026) The Cigna Group Foundation announced $3 million in grants to 22 nonprofits working to improve youth mental health and strengthen support systems across 10 states. The funding is part of the Foundation’s three-year, $9 million commitment to expanding access to care and reaching youth and families earlier, particularly in communities where needs continue to outpace available resources.

(June 22, 2026) Documentation of early screening in medical records for children, adolescents, adults, and pregnant and postpartum women can be effective in monitoring mental health and substance use. 270/271 eligibility and benefits transactions: Phase 2 enhancement launched
(June 19, 2026) Starting June 19, providers can now receive National Provider Identifier (NPI)-specific tiered benefit information through the 270/271 eligibility and benefit inquiry and response transaction set. This phase 2 enhancement applies to medical, dental, and behavioral health providers.

The Cigna Group appoints Brian Evanko Chief Executive Officer
(June 1, 2026) Brian Evanko, current The Cigna Group president and chief operating officer, will succeed David M. Cordani as chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2026. Evanko assumes the role of CEO as Cordani retires and transitions to executive chair of The Cigna Group’s Board of Directors.
