To help ensure your patients receive the appropriate level of care without unnecessary delays, and that you receive the proper reimbursement, Cigna Healthcare® prioritizes delivering prompt and accurate inpatient reviews. However, to achieve these goals, we need your assistance.

Please provide complete clinical documentation

It’s important to provide us with thorough and complete clinical documentation when a pre-service, concurrent, or post-service review is required. This allows our Medical Directors, who conduct the reviews, to have all the information they need to allow for a comprehensive understanding of each request, which in turn will help to expedite decision-making that supports optimal outcomes for your patients.

Incomplete or missing clinical documentation may result in denials, delays in approvals for planned care, or dispositions, and claim payments.

Please submit complete and detailed clinical documentation with each request to facilitate timely and accurate reviews, foster productive peer-to-peer discussions, and ensure that your patients receive the right care at the right time.
