Keep your online directory profile up-to-date

April 1, 2024

As part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) that went into effect January 1, 2022, participating providers are required to notify Evernorth Behavioral Health whenever there are changes to their provider data. In addition, health plans are required to verify and update their provider directory information every 90 days.

Ensure patients have accurate contact information

Evernorth wants to ensure we have the most recent, accurate, and complete directory information for our participating provider partners. Keeping your information current helps patients locate and contact your practice, improving access to care.

An efficient process to stay in compliance

We understand your time is valuable, which is why Evernorth has created a process for you to quickly verify or update your contact information.

Every 90 days, you will receive an email from Evernorth to verify your directory information.*  The email has the subject line, “Action Required: Your Evernorth Behavioral Health Directory Listing” and includes the information currently displayed in Evernorth online provider directory.

  • You are required to review the email to confirm or update key behavioral health practice information, including provider name, address, telephone number(s), specialty, and digital contact information.**
  • You will be given several options to quickly verify or update your information.
  • If there are no changes to the data, you are still required to attest to the accuracy of your directory information.
  • If you have not heard from us, please send your updated email address to BehavioralDirectory@Evernorth.com and include your name and TIN or NPI for identification purposes.

Respond at least once per calendar year to keep yourself searchable in the directories at Cigna.com and well.evernorth.com.  At year end, Evernorth will remove non-responding providers from Cigna and Evernorth directory searches, per CAA mandates.

If you are in California, you will be contacted twice annually in accordance with state-specific law.  Respond to each such request to ensure no disruptions to customer appointment searches.

Additional information

If you have questions about the directory verification process, please call Provider Services at 800.926.2273.

* Facilities and outpatient clinics will receive separate notices for each location. If you receive multiple notices, and any number of locations are current and accurate, follow the steps to “Confirm” only once per state. Our automated process will record a confirmation for each location sharing the same Taxpayer Identification Number(s). After that, follow the steps to report changes, where applicable.

** Please note emails from Evernorth will be to confirm your behavioral health directory data only.
